Hi, Julie! I didn’t announce it here, but I was in Highlands Today … I was a featured speaker yesterday at the Regional Tourism Summit in Lake Placid and stayed with friends. Will keep you in mind next time I’m coming through! Last November I spent several days soaking in the ambiance of Sebring-Avon Park-Lake Placid and tripled the size of that chapter in “South Florida: An Explorer’s Guide,” which will be out later this year.

Too bad you came to Sebring unannounced . . . I live in Sebring. You could have stayed here and we could have talked, and talked. Next time you get up this way, let me know ahead of time @Writers_Cafe, and we’ll get together.
If you just traveled Route 27, you didn’t get to see Sebring at all. The town is across Lake Jackson from Rt. 27. It’s a quaint little town with a circular green in the center.
