One of the things I really like about Okeechobee is the Brahman Theatres. I’ve been here for many a film with friends during the annual Big O Hike, as it’s a nice cool getaway after a morning on the trail.
But more importantly, for my budget-minded traveling friends, is how cheap it is for first-run films. Yep, we’re talking take the whole family to the movies cheap: adults $6.50, 12 and under $5.
Matinees are Wed, Sat, Sun at 2 and 4:15, and Mon at 3. Evening showings, too. As I recall, they need at least 6 people in attendance to show a movie. I’ve seen several Harry Potter releases here, and as you can see by the marquee – a photo taken several weeks ago – they don’t skimp on quality!

Also a rather hidden gem for any artist that comes to visit florida is our great facility located in hollywood florida, just minutes from the beach & the FLL/Hollywood International airport, if ever in the area come check us out!
From MIKER:
Sorry but this place is not worth $6.50 and there food and snacks are the same price as a “real” theater. They know the nearest theater is over an hour away so they continue raising there prices even though the place is a dump. There projectionist obviously has no idea how to “splice” or “thread” a movie. The sound system never works properly and among that, there’s absolutely no security or rules there, so you have people yelling and talking on there cell phones. Im an avid movie goer and this is by far one of thee worst theaters I have ever been in. I will definitely continue driving for an hour to have an excellent movie going experience…somewhere else.
From Sandra Friend:
Mike, are you from Okeechobee? I just come into town a few times a year and usually hit the movies during my stay for the Big O Hike. Living in a more urban area, I find this theater a breath of fresh air compared to the chain ones I deal with where I’m from. And their prices sure beat ours. But if this is all you have easy access to, I can understand your frustration.
